Thank you for snagging this update on the Aurora. I am one of many people out there anxious for updates since they went quiet at the end of August. It is really appreciated. Great info from Mr. Schoonover. Looking forward to them getting the first version out.
My pleasure. Looking forward to it as well.
In regards to Stephen LaBerge and the scientific community, I’m currently reading Fringe-ology by Steve Volk which came out a few years ago and has a chapter on lucid dreaming. I find it surprising that his original work is still being ignored by academic publishers. Steve Volk reports on his experience with LaBerge at his workshop in Hawaii. The whole book is a great comment on this relationship between science and the paranormal.
By “his original work” you mean LaBerge’s? I don’t think his original work is still being ignored, I think it is his lack of current involvement in academia that makes some raise an eyebrow and perhaps not take him seriously currently, as he chose to focus on the practice rather than the research. But it is also the paranormal that makes people in the scientific community throw out the baby with the bathwater perhaps.
According to the book, PubMed had decided to omit LaBerge’s original paper. It appears to be there now though.
Interesting. Thanks for the update
